I don't know what the freak is going on over at NBC right now, I do know, no matter what happens, Conan walks away a richer man. What I don't know is if he'll head over to another network and for the sake of my sanity I hope he does! In a weird, stalker-ish, creepy kind of way, I LOVE Conan O'brien and he has been there for me, unknowingly, in my darkest hours. It's a sad sad story how I came to become a HUGE fan of Conan's but it all started at 12:35am back in January of 2008. The first time I watched his show was during the writer's strike and he was improvising everything obviously. I never used to sleep with the TV on. I saw no used in doing that as I fell asleep rather quickly. Then life kicked me in the cojones and I decided the only way I could sleep would be to stop thinking and since that was impossible I turned on the TV and decided to watch the box with all the pretty colors until I my eyes couldn't take it anymore. First thing I saw: Conan with his scruffy beard being funny. It was love at first sight. I continued to watch Conan and forget all my troubles for the night. It was during that time where I was able to master the philosophy of: "There is absolutely NOTHING you can do about your problems RIGHT NOW, right this minute there's not a thing you can do about it, so don't worry about tomorrow's problems today, deal with things as they come and don't sit in your bed trying to figure it all out because you can't, so you might as well relax until the time comes to face the world again in the morning." I literally watched Late Night with Conan O'brien every night to be able to go to sleep and followed through his transition to the Tonight Show. I even went to see the show live and I still can't believe I didn't ask the obvious question everybody wants to know, boxers or briefs?
To wrap it up, I can't imagine going through life without watching Conan on TV, just like he watched Johnny Carson back in the glory days. To think that I found his show to be like ointment to my weary soul may sound pathetic, but it's the truth. They say laughter is the best medicine, and laughter was just what I needed during those dark days. As I write this I'm requesting tickets to what I hope won't be the last I'll see of him...Should I add a comment and copy and paste some of this??? Maybe I will. In short, I hope I will see Conan again on TV. If not then the string dance shall live on through his fans and passed on to younger generations. Tear.

Wake me up in 2010...wait, what's today's date?

Baby, even the losers, get lucky sometimes
Baby, even the losers, keep a little bit of pride, they get lucky sometimes

I've learned what the inside of an Emergency Room looks like, and I've learned how to sleep in a chair. I learned I don't care much for Christmas, because nothing says "Jesus was born" better than mass amounts of shopping right? I've learned we can all feel understood by just listening to any Bruce Springsteen song. Drink more water, carbs are evil. Pigeons have suicidal tendencies (just ask my car) and a group of crows is called a "murder," which makes me think crows have been unfairly demonized.

I've learned I need God. I've learned that I'm reaching my breaking point in customer service and I can't fake cheerfulness much longer. I learned craigslist both rocks and sucks! I've learned I need Saturdays off and that bonuses are taxed. I learned people are bigger idiots than I thought and I've learned misanthropy exists for a reason. I learned I might have a personality trait called alexithymia which is a state of deficiency in understanding, processing, or describing emotions. That. explains. a lot.

I've learned I need to learn that "what you don't have you don't need it now." I learned there were gypsies in my family tree and possibly a Count. I learned it's hard to convince your family to move to another state. I learned it's even harder to move by yourself. I learned 5 pounds make absolutely no difference. I learned that ice skating in the dark is freakin awesome and that I can still do a split. Pilates are good, resentment is bad, envy is ugly. I learned it's easier to say "I love you" to an animal because they don't understand what it means.

And I've learned that even the losers get lucky sometimes. in progress...

Why is it that when I look up "Already Gone" by Eagles, the first entries on google are songs by Kelly Clarkson and Sugarland??? What kind of world do I live in???!!!!

Well I know it wasn't you who held me down
Heaven knows it wasn't you who set me free
So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains
And we never even know we have the key
But me, I'm already gone
And I'm feelin' strong
I will sing this vict'ry song
'cause I'm already gone
